The Château de Menthon is located just a stone’s throw from the lake, making it an absolute must to pause on one of the many pontoons lining its stunning turquoise waters.
There are those effortless connections, those obvious bonds you sometimes encounter—between lovers, and with (most) newlyweds.
It quickly became clear to me that the guiding spirit of this wedding would be: “enjoy every moment and have fun,” both in front of and behind the camera.
Mission accomplished, so it seems!
Perched 150 metres above Lake Annecy, Château de Menthon-Saint-Bernard is one of the most majestic wedding venues in the Alps. This medieval estate dating back to the 13th century — home to the Menthon family for over a thousand years and said to be the birthplace of Saint Bernard of Menthon — rises above the lake with its fairytale silhouette of crenellated towers and ochre facades. The terraces, with their sweeping views over the turquoise waters and surrounding peaks, provide a breathtaking setting for an outdoor ceremony or a sunset cocktail reception.
Based in Annecy, filmmaker Samuel Maurin captures weddings across Haute-Savoie and beyond with over 30 years of expertise.
